Affiliate disclosure
LowSpec AI is written and paid for by one person. Some of the links on this site earn a commission. This page explains exactly how that works, because you should not have to guess.
Last updated: 17 October 2026.
The short version
If you click a link to a shop or a hardware seller and buy something, we may receive a small commission from that seller. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid by finding the shop yourself.
Which links are affiliate links
- Hardware buttons. Anything labelled "Get ..." or shown inside a "Where to get it" box points at a retailer or an affiliate network. Those links carry
rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", and a short note appears directly under the buttons. - Software links. Links to a project's own homepage, source repository or documentation are plain links. Almost every tool reviewed here is free and open source, so there is nothing to earn on it.
- Programs involved. Awin (as a publisher), the Geekbuying affiliate program, and AliExpress Affiliate. The list changes as programs are approved or dropped, and this page is updated when it does.
What a commission never buys
Affiliate income has no influence on:
- Scores. There are no star ratings here, invented or otherwise. Where a verdict appears it is editorial judgement and the reasoning is in the text.
- Ranking or inclusion. A tool is listed because it runs on low-spec hardware, not because someone pays for it.
- Verdicts. "Do not run this on 4 GB" is written the same way whether or not a commission exists on the alternative.
Where a merchant pays for a link, that card is labelled Sponsored and marked rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", and the label sits on the card itself, not buried here. What is for sale is a click on a product we already chose to write about — never a place in a guide, a score, or a verdict. A sponsored card means "we may be paid if you buy this"; it does not mean "we recommend this more than we did before it was sponsored".
Cookies
Clicking an affiliate link may set a cookie from the retailer or the affiliate network so that the sale can be credited to this site. Those cookies are set by them, not by us, and they carry a click identifier rather than your name. We never receive your order contents, your address or your payment details.
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising pixels. The only measurement is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and aggregate-only, and the host keeps standard request logs — both are described in the privacy policy.
If you would rather not use them
That is fine, and it changes nothing about what you can read here. Search for the product name yourself and buy it wherever you prefer.
